Indie Greats
Quickly on this, two home-made indie releases are worth a note, a check, and a listen, and oddly enough, both are projects recorded in dorm rooms here in Philly. Psalters’ disc, Prayers To Be is a multi-musician coming together masterminded by festival promoter and street activist Scott Krueger. Leaning heavy on eastern flavorings (Indian guitar sounds, middle-eastern wails, and lots of surging percussion), wild shifts in dynamics, and carefully constructed tone poems for most of the lyrics, Prayers To Be is wildly eclectic, engaging, and massively ambitious for a small project.
